A hydraulic ram is a pump that operates without electricity or any
other source of external power. It uses the force of running water to
lift a portion of that water to a higher height. I became interested
in this technology while living in a region in Mexico without
electricity. In 2004, I adapted a Peace Corp design, built my own
hydraulic ram, and made a series of videos documenting the process.
